They are both almost similar and baking powder contains baking soda. While the powder contains some percentage of sodium bicarbonate, the soda is made up of pure sodium bicarbonate. It leads to the formation of carbon dioxide bubbles and helps in baking it well, when baking soda is added to any food. Usually, it has an instant reaction. Then again, it’s mostly combined with yogurt, chocolate, buttermilk or honey. I’m sure that the powder also contains an acidifying agent just like cream of tartar and a drying agent similar to starch, apart from containing sodium bicarbonate. Two baking kinds powder are available first is a single acting powder which is activated by moisture, and the second is a double acting powder which reacts in two phases. Just think for a moment. Both products are used in different recipes. For example, according to the recipes, these two have to be used. Usually, both have a single motto which is to add taste to the food and bring about an attractive texture.
